How much are you looking to spend? For an average budget I would recommend a lowend Alpine deck ($200) with a set of jaycar splits($149) and a pioneer slimline sub(~$200 all being powered from a jaycar 4x100 amp ($299) If you buy the jaycar splits and amp together you should easily be able to get them both for $400, that makes $800 all up and another $50 for wiring and it will be a decent sounding system you should be happy with.

Yes the pioneer slimline subs are very thin indeed and were designed for applications like yours. The splits will be mounted in your doors and the tweeters on the A pillars or on the dash and the amp mounted behind the seats aswell.
This subwoofer - http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-TS-SW124 ... sw124d.htm This amp - http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... BCATID=595 Or if thats too expensive get this one which is similar just a fair bit larger http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... BCATID=595 These speakers - http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... &SUBCATID= Then just find a headunit with at least two preouts and your laughing. With the headunit its just a matter of how much you want to spend. Oh and you need to find a box for that sub, it only uses small boxes I just cant find them.

thanks man.
i was thinking about fully laying out the system with just pioneer, but those items you've shown my are pretty good for the price, if i get that sub you reckon pioneer would have the case for it? and can i mount it on the back wall in the middle just behind the center console? and that amp under the drive seat or on the wall bihind it? that wall behind the seat is there a space from the wall to the back of the tray? as in to mount the sub or amp?

Nah, its just a piece of steel that divides the cabin and the tray... no cavity between them.
You could mount your amp underneath your seat as long as its not gunna get too hot under there.. as for the sub, well.. I don't know what you could do with that

Pioneer do have a box for that sub but im not sure where to get it. Try jb-hifi or somewhere like that. If you want to go all pioneer then that will still be ok but its probably going to cost you double on the speakers and amps to get the performance you will get out of the jaycar gear. The splits are known as the best splits this side of $300 and the amp is perfect to match the splits with 2x100 into them and then 1x380 for the sub which is rated at 350rms
If I was you I would stay away from the cheaper models of the big brands such as sony, pioneer, etc. They tend to be worth only what you pay for them. You shouldnt have any problem mounting the sub box and amp behind the seats or the box behind the centre console and the amp under the drivers seat. Although you will need to go for the full digital amp if its going under the seat because the cheaper one is a little long for that.

ah yeah, well ill try looking arouns perth for those items.
how much do you reckon someone would charge to fit it all in the place i want? and with the box does that mean that it would be mounted into the metal just onto of it?

Just mounted onto the metal. You will be surprised how easy it is to get it to stay in the one spot with out cutting or drilling anything.
I think you would be looking at $200 or so to install all the stuff. Its not hard at all to do if you have any mechanical/electrical knowledge.

yeh its all in there somewhere. Hiding the wiring is easy, i will give you a quick rundown of whatsa involved.
- Connect power cable to battery and run through the firewall, under carpet, along the door sills to the amps. - connect blue remote wire from headunit to amp - connect ground wire (less then 30cm long in total) from the amp to a secure chassis ground - run RCA cables from head unit to amp - run speaker cables from amp to speakers and sub. In a nutshell thats all thats involved. I would say putting the head unit in is the hardest part.
