not really, but they've been going for almost a year perfectly now.
look how thin the factory wire is that powers the headlight globes and the factory horn!

It's a good point however. Many people think they need to use thick wire and they dig deep in their pockets when they don't actually need to.. If it doesn't break don't fix it.

sometimes a bit of preventative overkill saves a lot of expense and heartbreak later
when i installed a new pair of driving lights on my XF i stripped out the factory wiring loom and replaced all the foglight wiring, relay, etc with new stuff cos i simply didnt know it's true condition or capacity

i've got a pair of Hella 181's with IPF 130w bulbs in them, which means at the 13.4V i get at highway speed they draw a total of 19.4A, which is more than what a single run of 4mm is rated at, so there's 6mm between the battery and the relay with a fuse in the middle, and a pair of 4mm wires going to the foglight mounts

if you're running a pair of small 55w fog/driving lights, fair enough, but what if you want to upgrade later?

it's better to spend a lil extra initially and have a setup that you know is capable of handling it's job and even any possible upgrades than to either have to replace all your work down the track when you want to upgrade, or god forbid sitting at the side of the road in the rain one night when something has burnt out

IIRC a 30m roll of 4mm wire only cost me $20.....
