Guys, im just looking for anyone who has a system in there BA with a standard H/U, i want to keep the standard headunit in my BA, but it doesnt have RCA outs for an amp, i have two choices, a lineout converter or the HIGH INPUT option on my amp, what do you guys suggest would be the best quality?
i am having 2 amps in the car, 1 for my sub and one for my fron(5x7splits)+rear(5x7 2ways) speakers, as the BA H/U doesnt have the best audio options available, and the amp i am using for my sub has a control for the gain, so i dont have to continously pull the back seat down to fiddle with the amp. any information on lineouts and highinputs on amps is aprreciated, thanks guys, dave. |

Go with a line out converter... I had a SLOC2 in my BA XR6 with prem. sound. Once that was done everything sounded pretty good with a new sound system because there isn't anything really wrong with the head unit except lack of choices to mod.
Plus, you might consider this too... I was looking around and trying to find a high quality equalizer to fit in the dash where the tissue box sits, but nobody seemed to make them anymore. I remember Alpine had some 10 years or so ago but they seemed to have moved away from them. |

The SLOC wired up by the boys at Autobarn. They mounted it behind the dash/HU. Then from there we ran the RCA leads to the amps in the boot.

I would reccomenend David Navone Line level convertors or Stinger from my experience both have been very good and neither is very expensive...

Im not sure how big the holes are in the parcel shelf in the ba's but in my au, I unscrewed the old speakers and screwed my 6-9's up from under the shelf coz the hole was too small to sit the speaker in and i didnt want to use spacers or cut the shelf. Worked a treat!
