Hey guys! How have you all stopped your sub moving around in your boot? It didn't bother me till now because i had a rim in the boot holding it there while i was doing up my car... Now it's complete the rim is out and the sub isn't secure...

Well it depends on the shape, size and location of your sub box.
Mine sits on the little hump, and I have attached a bracket from the box to the parcel shelf. |

Here is an old picture... That's where it normally sits, I don't really fancy drilling through the floor and fitting L brackets etc..

Well in that case get some velcro and attach it to the base of the box, should help it grip to the carpet.

As above... i used strips of the prickly part of velcro, stapled it to the base of the sub box and it sticks well. The sub can still be moved if more boot space is needed.

Thanks heaps guys! Why didn't i think of that! I have an RDO so i will go pick some up today..
and there is no where really to stick occy straps in the boot to hold a sub box. |

What you should do is make your own custom box that slots into the section behind the seats and throw away that dodgy super cheap enclosure. Like mentioned before, buy a couple of bracket that attach to the top of the box and to the underside of the parcel shelf.

Ha i told the guy to take a further $40 off the sub price and for him to keep the box, sony explode don't make a bad box so I'm using one of those..

personally i got 2 12's in separate boxes which have been in both an ea and a ba and they fit just behind the rear seat perfectly
they never move as they are wedged in there really tight but of course you'd have to buy another one and the boxes i use are from autobahn and are smaller than sony boxes

Velcro is definetly the way to go. You can get some really big pieces from Bunnings pretty cheap. Then when you need to remove it you just take out the speaker wire and away you go.

i tried velcro in my old EA.. did nothing but i had mine up on the hump. it kept rolling down in the boot and edned up distroying the sub so i got 3 pieces of wire and 6 screws and made bracing like in the pics below
there is NO wiring under the body where the screw is so no chance at shorting something out and the parcel shelf has nothing either. the screws can be put under the carpet if wanted. i never had another issue |

L bracket and drill holes through chassis above diff is easiet/best way. stick some bolts through and nylon lock nuts and dont forget the paint to stop rust
