can any one tell me how to take out the stereo and where the screws to take off the dash bit around the stereo are. Thanks

may sound dumb but i cant find the s**t n e where it was different in my falcon.

I start by removing the ash tray and then remove the screws.
The dash is held in by 2 screws below the h/u nera the ash tray, 3 screw above the cluster and 1 screw either side the streeing wheel.
Once the screws have been removed the dash will lift out, the top is held in by clips. Once the clips are undone the wiring linking the buttons and/or trip computer can be unplugged.
U should now have easier access to the stereo unit.

I have an after market h/u so i am not 100% sure how to get the stock out.

i am pretty sure you will need the torx bit to get the actual screws holding the h/u in place. i dont know what number it is, i used one from a bloke who worked at ford

yeah you will need the special torx bit to remove the 2 screws holding the HU in
