i have a stock ef fairmont.

i think there is a subwoofer enclosed under the rear shelf.
is this true?
how do i make/buy/instal a new sub to make it sound more thumping??

There will only be a sub there if it has the premium sound installed, which wasn't standard on Fairmonts. Easy way to tell is look in the boot, can you see three or two speakers in the parcel shelf?

i have never known how good it sounded, it was never hooked up, when i bought the ghia i shoved my old stereo system in from my old car :)

i tell you's guy's they sound pretty good for a factory set up,, i'm happy with the sound the prem system gives out

for something that old it still goes well
But they do use Alpine technology tho.

Really? I could have sworn he said it was the whole package... (pity he removed everything after it sold so I can't go back and check)

As I mentioned in the thread, I'd probably have bought it if it wouldn't take a buttload of fiddling around to make it all work in the wagon :(
