Trying to work out how many speakers a 94 fairmont has...

Redbook says there are eight...

Quote:
Standard
Equipment:

15" Alloy Wheels, 8 Speaker Stereo, ABS (Antilock Brakes), Adjustable Steering Col. - Tilt & Reach, Air Cond. - Climate Control, Body Colour - Bumpers, Central Locking - Remote/Keyless, Cruise Control, Disc Brakes Front Ventilated, Disc Brakes Rear Solid, Engine Immobiliser, Headrests - Integrated 2nd Row, Paint - Prestige, Power Antenna, Power Door Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows - Front & Rear, Radio Cassette, Trip Computer, Velour Trim

But I fail to find eight, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spots.

Wondering if anyone could aid me and provide as to where there usual locations are?

Thanks

Ford count the 2 way rears as 2 seperate speakers, there are 2 in the doors (dahhh) and IIRC 2 tweeters in the dash

So, you're saying, the 2 on the rear parcel shelf, count as 4 in total?

2 x 6" (2 way ie: sep tweeter) on the parcel shelf (4)
2 x 6" mid/low range in the doors (2)
2 x 1.5" tweeters on the dashboard (2)

If you class the hi series its a 9 speaker setup (1 x 9" sub)

The front speakers are 6" not 6.5" they actually measure in slightly less then 6.25" which makes them 6".
If you try to fit a real 6.5" speaker then you will find they won't fit without modification to the opening.....

Though it is not very hard to make a 6.5" fit, there is a little bit of work you have to do. Most speakers that have 6.5" on the box really arent, I think they count the whole frame or something to get 6.5".
