Dynamat Extreme.
A bulk pack will do wonders. And silicone. If not I think its called Flashtac from Bunnings, works just like dyanamat original but heaps cheaper. |

My boot buzzed until I put a Fairmont boot lid lining on. Worked a treat.

I used expanding foam to fill the bootlid, then covered it in bituminous paint. Works well, although now it's pretty heavy.

yeah and coz it expands when setting sometimes it will push the panel out a little in spots |

Yeah, you have to be careful with it.

With mine I just filled in the gaps along the bracing (like gros said). Came at it from each side and filled the suckers in with silicone. Can't see why you would need to take any risk with expanding foam because silicone worked a treat for me.
Then did 1 layer of dynamat over the top, and then put my Fairmont carpet liner back over the top of the dynamat. No rattles whatsoever from the bootlid anymore. Now if I only had the time to fix the 1,536 rattles coming from my door panels and various spots around the cabin! |
