Hey,
Check out these things mate, it could be one of the following problems, if not a few of them combined. 1. Leaking box, even a pin hole can make a sub sounds s**t. 2. Box is too big for the sub, use bean bag beans and a 10 litre bucket to measure the exact size and check the manufacturer specs. 3. Amp is turned up too much. If your sub is only 150W RMS then your AMP might just have a bit too much power for the sub, so turn the gain down to 3/4 and see what its like at full volume. 4. There could also be a hole in the rubber sorround of the sub, use sikaflex to seal it. Cheers,

Wow...you're feeding 100% gain of a 600W (Max I'm assuming...so about 250-300WRMS) into a sub with 150WRMS...I'm surprised you haven't cooked it yet.
You should turn the gain down close to half it's power to have the sub working better. Loud doesn't mean good... Turn the gain down on the Amplifier, play a song with bass in it and slowly turn the gain up until you hear distortion. A properly tuned amplifier, running an 8" sub will most likely sound better than a maxed out amplifier over powering a 12" sub.

It's the 12" version, TS-W302R, and it will definitely make more bass than stock subs. He clearly has something wrong with his setup. Crazy6ltr... Since you seem to know nothing about audio or setting it up, I recommend you visit a proper car audio installer and get some advice, get them to tune your amp and check that everything is OK with your sub box. |

whoo whoo whoo, i just had a lil buget cos i have no job atm, and its just to get me started off.
And yea my setup is s**t, My old EB was better Im running a Poineer Head Unit, and 170W Poineer speakers front and back, with the Poineer sub as mentioned, and im now running a Audioline Amp 200W X4 4 channel As i turn the bass up on the amp the sub goes hard but not enough, so i turn up the bass on the HU and the rear speakers distort hardcore The box is a US-audio box from JB-HI fi, and its brand new All up this costed me bout $560ish and its terrible lol My Alpine stuff was better in the fairmont

You're asking too much from your equipment. That sub will make a decent amount of bass for the price but you will kill it trying to get more out of it.
You also need to work out a way to control the subwoofer volume independently of the bass setting in the EQ. The bass setting in the EQ effects all the speakers which you are noticing when your 6x9's distort. This is why I said you need to take it to someone who knows what they're doing |

I think it was just the term, part as opposed to model number, that lost him, well if you were really on a budget, why not do some proper research prior to purchasing things. I admit I didn't look into my setup prior to buying it, but didn't spend a weeks wages on the system. I bought somebodies old system second hand dirtcheap.
