say hypothetically you weren't paying attention and you wired the ground and battery around the wrong way on an amp, how f**k ed are you in terms of damage to the amp

every amp iv seen have protection against stupid s**t like that :D ... normally a blown fuse at the worst...?

Yeah the fuse blew, i haven't got another handy but the amp was smoking a bit as well. Fingers crossed, I feel like a retard.

Yeah most amps will be protected by the fuse against numpties.

However, if you've got an amp that doesn't. It's dead.

If smoke came out, it's most likely not very healthy any more... Get a new fuse and see what happens, I think it'll make more magic smoke :)

i did the same to my 800w mono using 0 gauge wire, smoke and liquid came out, just blew 4 transistors, got new ones from vidcam, soldered them in and its never been better!
