Make sure that's the inside measurements & if it is a triangulated sub enclosure, use the above formula to find the volume of 'imaginary' box and half it. It gets more complicated if there is an angle cut off on one edge, but you just calculate the volume that is missing by the above formula again/halving it and subtracting that away from the total overall box size.
Hope that's not too complicated without pictures (cause I can't do them).

62cm x 50cm x what?
Need to measure it in 3 directions. 10cm x 10cm x 10cm = 1000cm^3 and is 1 litre 62 x 50 x 50 = 155000 = 155 litres

Is that inside dimensions?
You need to subtract the thickness of the mdf x2 for each measurement if it's not.

How many liters do you want the box?
If you want to build the box to a certain volume, work with cubic centimeters for the unit of volume... and use centimeters for the unit of measurement (instead of mixing liters and centimeters) and make an equation. Volume = L x W x H This equation will only work with cubes / rectangles... it wont work if there are any triangles... if there are triangles, you have to do the calculations in 2 steps. One to work out the volume of the triangle area, and one to work out the volume of the cube area. eg, if you want a 200 liter box; 200000 = 62 x 50 x H 62 x 50 200000 = 3120 x H divided 3120 = divided by3120 64.1025641 = H H = 64.1025641 centimeters If you don't know the maths (my dad doesn't know, he is 44) I can do it for you |
