to rhysy_boi,
the two subs are 10 inch jaycar Response 250rms, and the amp is a brand new Response Precision 4 x 130rms. They are running off the amp in bridged mode so the amp will deliver 380 rms x 2 but thats at 14.4 volts so it would be less than that but it drives them really well, they are in 25 litre boxs with a 50mm port at 260mm in length. to Blu Falc, they dont come with speaker grills but nothing gets put in the back except for the shopping now that the kids have grown up. to Mechan1k, they give you a very tight and clear sound and it sounds like they are right behind you, i am happy with sound as i did not want to much bass in the car but you can still turn the gain controls up more if you wanted more bass, this is the first time i have built this kind of box setup as i usually run them in sealed inclosers, but having access to a CNC machine and panel saws at work make the job a lot easier. I hope i got all the answers here that you guys and gals were after but if i missed any just keep pestering me!! |

Did you use the holes for the cargo barrier to bolt the box in place? With mine you have to remove the subto get to the bolt to undo and only then the box can be moved.

yep thats how it is held in place, i liked the idea of not being able to see how it is fixed in to the car.

Still insterested in how you go with theft protection? I dunno what he does, but I got dark tints on the rear, hid my amps under the seats, put an el cheepo poxy grill on my sub and got a black sub with black box so it's almost impossiable to see through the window, adn mainly park in my garage. From the picture it doesn't really look like his windows are tinted, and his set ups nice and shinny, it'd have me worried that some little scum bag'd notice it! |

Yeah I got dark tints in the back, with a matress and furry black material. And s**t that lies on it, like sub doesn't get noticed. But in this case, everyone would notice, and someone would want.
Cheers

I have 20% tint on the car windows and it is only ever in my shed at home or parked outside at work. I have also installed sqaure drive self tappers to hold the amp on the box and the subs in place, so they will get in it and figure out that there screw driver wont do the job. with any luck that will be a deterant because it would take to long to get anything out.

I also thought about taking ages to rip s**t out... but the problem is, the glass is big, and expensive at the back. All of them lol. Especially if its tinted, you don't want it broken.
Cheers

X 2 Nice tidy install, what Response amp is it? the 4 channel by the looks? You could flip over the middle pannel and have someone airbrush or put a sign on it to personalise it a little. The plate simply flips over...

Grub_Six - Did that floor used to be a huge towel, that you have placed around a MDF Sheet.
(What is it) I might Change my Black Carpet Idea to that if it is the towel i saw the other day in a store in Tea Tree Plaza. |

G'day EACRUISER,
It is a polarfleece blanket that i got from target, it is a little bit big for the back so i just tucked it under the trim so it looked like it is the right size, when i get some spare cash i am going to cut it to the right size and get a nice trim sewn around the edge of it, too easy!! |

Yeah keep an eye on my work in progress for more pics.
How much did you pay for the polarfleece blanket from target roughly if you can remember. |
