look at it this way

falcons with premium sound use a spacer to raise the factory sub slughtly only cos without the spacer, the sub would physically hit the gas tank......

whoever has been telling you that subs and gas tanks dont mix are full of s**t..... only way i could see it being a poblem is if you have a pre-existing leak, and if that is the case, subs are the least of your problems

shouldnt need anything between the subs and the tank as long as the subs are not:
1: inverted in a box
2: running as a freeair setup
3: mounted conventionally in a box that is secured with sufficient space between it and the tank to either isloate the box from hitting the tank or to stop the sub cones from hitting the tank

I also Have a large LPG tank in the boot of my XR6,and i got a Custom box made up so that it sits right infront of the tank without the need of any brackets etc. Just sits inbetween the gas tank brackets perfectly and is heavily stuck down onto the boot linging. The Box does not move around one bit! :) However i only have one 12' sub.

Theres a pic of it in my gallery, if you wanna have a looksky.

Who, me? :) Umm i made up a custom mounting board for it. Its only a 2 channel amp (got it off of pyroay) luckily it fits perfect in that gap (where it sits now). Then i just bolted the board using the holes where the ghia holes are for the stock amp. Carpeted the board, roughly the same color of the boot, then screwed on the amp to the board! :)

Id like to see if i can get my amps on the sides like that - doubt they will sit well tho, plus the left side isnt straight as we know, very lumpy.
