i got one now but i want a stacker oneday and to be able to play the odd few tapes lying around as well does anyone know whats causing that very small problem, would it be the motor that spins the tape reel or something else, would i waste time swapping that little motor
one sides working great and everything else works great apart from that small problem ill mainly be using the stacker when/if i get it oneday but may play tapes as well from time to time if its too much trouble will just use it as is the amount of times tapes will get played |

Normally its a slipping pinch roller which controls the speed directly from the capstan. Its a small rubber wheel that pinches the tape against the capstan shaft located next to the head. They become hard and allow the tape to slip through at the speed of the take up spool which is faster to take up tape slack. If its clean make sure the pinch roller has tension.

music torrents + utorrent + Blank CD's + $100 Kenwood CD player
much better option, and can still listen to your old music..... unless your tapes are Russian folk music, then would be hard to source copies i guess |

I agree, even if you have heaps of tapes, the sound quality is f**k terrible. Even my vinyl's from the 70's sound better than cassette.
