hey guys, ive got my subs installed couple weeks ago and they sound awesome . but theres one thing annoying my, the bass seems to reach my ears a split second after it really should. i dont have alot of money to buy a fancy HU atm, so is there any way i can delay the front stage the tiniest bit. If not wat head unit would offer this feature without costing a fortune?

Are you front speakers running off the headunit at the moment? Maybe if you put them off a cheapish amp then they'll also be delayed and it'll all be evend up?

i dont think that does it. Cos i thought that but i faded to my back speakers which were also running off an amp and that sub was still slow. Need time correction HU, but there may be something somebody on here knows about. Cheers |

I dont think thats the propblem. Sound like one of the speakers may be playing out of phase. Check all connections to speakers and sub and ensure they are + to positive and - to negative.
Sub may be out of phase with the fronts. You will get a lot more bottom end when its corrected.

you can do it on the alpine website. Register with them (free) and then you can use this thing that you type in the distances and it will calculate it for you. then you burn the results on a cd and wack it in the HU. It will then download the settings and your set.

I hope they're 2ohm subs or its a 2ohm stable amp.

theres nothing wrong with your h/u or amp mate, its all fine. from the description it seems like the drivers seat is a 'sweet spot' for bass frequecies. therefore after the freqs bounce around the cabin for a few milliseconds, they all converge on the same spot at the same time... a fraction of a second later - just enough to notice. to correct it a little, try moving the subs around? try different spots and see how ya go. good luck with it ryan |

waggin: yeh the amp is a class D mono, 2 ohm stable. made sure of that when i bought it.
ryan: atm their facing away from the back seat so might have to try moving them around a bit. thanx for the input mate |
