At the moment I have NF/L cornering lights in the front bar of my EF Ghia. Currently I am using a relay and a switch to control them. I am going to change the wiring so that they come on only with the high beams.
I just want an EDUCATED opinion whether it would be safe to do away with the relay and just piggy-back off the high beam wiring. Keep in mind they only use 20W globes, the same as the brake lights. I want the relay and wiring gone. Thanks if anybody can help. |

would make the high beam use 80watts of power if they are 60w now. not sure how long the relay / circuit breaker would handle it. theres another thread recently about headlights flashing/blinking as they have brighter globes fitted.

Why you want them on for highbeam is beyond me but okay.
You can delete your switch, but you still need a relay. Just get the trigger from your highbeams instead of the switch. |

Thats a good reply, and helpful. Thanks. krisisdog wrote: Why you want them on for highbeam is beyond me but okay. You can delete your switch, but you still need a relay. I know exactly how to do it, if you read the OP you would have seen I was asking whether the High beam circuit could handle the load directly. |

Obviously it cant, as they relays f**k up by themselves without an added load.

Thanks, I didn't know that. elf100capri mentioned that they struggle with the higher load from brighter globes, not that they can barely cope with the standard globes. I'll just leave the relay in. Thanks. elf100capri, PM replied and you have my Mob number. |
