I have this noise comming though my front speakers which are hooked up to the amp, its a high pitched noise, and when you rev the car it get's louder! but when you turn the car off into ACC the loise stops.
Ive checked That the RCA's Leads dont cross the power, as they both run down eaither side of the car. and dont come accros each other. can anyone help me on this bloody noise! cheers kyle

need a supressor on the alternator. should actually have one already fitted but could be faulty, or the amps crapped itself

So the amp might of had the gong! anything else that can be thoguht of, and what would the supressor on the alternator fix??

The EL's have a suppressor capacitor mounted across the +ve of the ignition coil. You might need to check it's connected properly, or test it with a multimeter that has a capacitance testor. Not the best position to get to it though . . .
Older cars used to have a suppressor on the alternator to cut down the 'noise' from the brushes in the alternator - arcing or sparks give out infinite frequencies. This was one of the jobs of the condensor in a points ignition.

my old val used to make that noise. RACECAM we used to call it.

cheapest and easiest fix which usually works is a Ground Loop Isolator, Aerpro make one, can get them at Repco for like $10.00, just goes inline with the RCA cables. p[art number AP305.

I had a similar high pitched whine in my system, checked all the usual things to no avail..
It ended up being noise on the power supply to the header unit so I fixed it with a line filter. http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA3072&CATID=&keywords=line+filter&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID= One of these in the +12V to the header unit sorted the problem for me.

i had the same problem im guessing that u run the RCA leads down the left side of your car right past your compter. I did have your standerd RCA cable hookde up with no noise but when i bought a higher power handling RCA cable i got a Sound that sounded like interfernce. so i gave the cable more room pass my computer (in the kick panel) and teh sund was gone. maybe try this
