I'm looking around and seeing wats out there but i'm Intrested in these headunits and which one would you choose: I use the ute for work and i want something with great sound and good looks and features too. I do alot of driving.
1) JVC KD-AVX2
2) Pioneer DEH-P9850BT
3) Alpine CDA-9855R

Please post your opinions as i'm having trouble deciding thanks

why not go the normal version of DEH-P9850BT
do you really need the bluetooth? i've got the non blue tooth version and its a nice headunit! that said if your going to hook an ipod upto it i'd bet a alpine one. the pioneer ipod adapters are rather slow

id recomend the pioneer 6850mp if you dont need blue tooth its a lot cheaper and still an awesome head unit...

yeah i wouldn't mind the bluetooth as i would have hands free for my mobile while driving as been looking to replace my hands free.

So Pioneer is a worth while option

as much as i hate that JVC model, I'd go that one for the following reasons.

1) you've got a ute.
2) plays dvd's

hehe yeh but seriously i would love it in the ute but is dvd necessary the only bit with the dvd thats great about it is the 4.7gb dvd mp3 discs and that since the screen is big it is easier to go through wat music you want to listen to easy.

well i had a look at the pioneer and great and all but with my old head unit i had the display angled as it was easier to see but pioneer doesn't give that function so it goes to alpine or JVC

Exactly go the Alpine 9855R I have one excellent high end unit....Ask Pyroay these range oof units are excellent for SQ ... they have a stack load of features like bass engine pro..lots of built in EQ functions...very easy to use...picked up a few awards at sound image awards...and for the price these retail at now certainly cant complain.

Be my pick of the 3 imo

Alpine or the Pioneer.

JVC headunits feature average sound and build quality.

The Alpine 9855 is an excellent unit and i have one in my wifes car, and i am very fussy about SQ.

I have also used the Pioneer (8 series, also nice.

Cosmetics are a personal opinion.

I have always liked pioneer looks, but it took me a while to Warm to the Alpine.

Now that i have, i love them.

you can get the 7850bt pioneer cheaper then the 6850MP at the minute. got my 6850 off ebay for $380 (60% full price) just waiting for it to cool off to put it in.

go a pioneer, you'll never have a problem with it if you do

9850BT, just bought one myself.
Great headunit, the blue tooth feature certainly ain't wank factor.
All you need to do is run the mic for the handsfree, and it automatically connects to your bluetooth phone as soon as you jump in the car.
Can dial numbers via the headunit remote, awesome stuff.
I chose it as an upgrade for my 8750MP, definately worthy...
Only negative thing that s**t me with the pioneer headunits, is the fact that they don't dim the button illumination with headlights on... only the screen.
So you get a blue glow at night.
