It all depends on the car but ultimately it is up to you and what you think sounds the best. I seem to like the speakers down in the kicks with the tweets next to them on an angle but the problem with this position is that the ECU is located is located on the left hand kick.. Obviously this would mean relocating the ECU beneath the seat or even to the boot.

and its a good ide to overpower splits too.
the more power you feed them, the more mid range you are going to get out of them
i know ive mentioned it before, but i have a theory when it comes to car audio
take the rms rating of the speakers / subs or whatever it is, double it, and go buy a quality amp to suit :)

Yep, I've always thought to get the speakers RMS value and add 50 to it, and find an amp around that.

I'll have 2, Pioneers 300W RMS subs, and i'm gonna be feeding both of them 500W. Just be careful on your volume.

i got the 6.5 inchers , and they sound wicked!. im running them off the deck at the moment, and pretty much all the decent higher end splits everyone is talking about are gonna sound the same if your running them off your deck cos its your deck that distorts first. (even does it in Smackdowns with his prorange (fkn hot splits though) ,

weve found that alpine HU power harder than low to mid range Pioneer, but higher range pioneer does well. so if your gonna amp em up and be deaf by 25 go for top end, but seriously. only worth spending hella cash if your fullysick subboffas can create sound for the MCG and you need your splits to destroy ear drums further.!

There 6"s, but depending on the manufacturer and how they measure there speakers, sometimes 6.5 or 5.5"'s are the right fit...

Magnets are usally the hardest thing when upgrading the splits! Sometimes they are more than twice the size as stock ones and wont fit properly in the stock hole.

Just make sure you choose carefully.
