I wont go through the many systems ive gone through to finally achieve my dream system. This ones hear to stay though, this ones cost me around $7000 so i really dont think any more modificatiosn to the stereo are necessary.
I got the tweeters setup right where they are in the fairmont ghias, along that piller thingo where nobody can see em.
Alpine CDA-7998R Head Unit
Competition splits in the front
Alpine S-type 6.5" speakers in the rear(newbies)
twin Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" subs in a custom Sealed Box, Stealth install with 2 alpine v-12 amps hanging off the back wall in the boot. the install cost me almost a grand alone, will take photos sometime this week to show yas the install. can still get to spare tyre, yaz would definately be surprised if ya see this as it literally looks like ford put it all in.

Sounds nuts!

2x JBL GTO626e unmodified, in standard rear location
1x Soundstream VG800.5 5 ch amp.
1x CLARION DXZ746MP cd player

The cd and amp were recently removed by a local junky to suport his habbit, hope ya had a good hit

At the moment...

Sony 7-inch motorized screen
Pioneer Bullet series splits in front
JVC 6x9's in the rear
PS2 mounted under pass. seat, thanks to Jase for the bracket he made.
Sony 6 stacker under driver's seat
Kicker Solo Baric Sub and Kicker Amp was going to be bought tonight
but about 5 km from JB Hi-Fi a massive pot hole buckled both of rims on the left side of the car. I mean a 1mx1m 5cm+ deep pot hole in a 100km/h zone. Stupid council.
So anyway thought i better save the money to fix them, cause god knows how much its gonna cost to fix the FR's :x

Ever thought about splits up front? Nonetheless, that system would pump!

Used to have a DVD system with the roof mount screen, but I never used it so out it came.

Now have an MP3 head unit (LOL ebay bargain) with the stock speakers, and 2 little self powered subs for under the seats. Finally hooked it all up today and it doesnt sound half bad. Am not into LOUD, just into clear which it does nicely.

Plans are to replace the back speakers then I will be happy.

Oh, and probably sell the DVD player and screen.
