Hey guys, i know i may not be a part of this forum anymore, but im sure to check in from time to time, cause you guys have always been such a great help. For anyone who doesnt know, my EB had a 'mishap' with another falcon, who ran a give way sign right in front of me, basically im getting rid of the falcon, and getting an MR2 Turbo...
My question: ive got an Audison LRX1.400 Monoblock which i have been running 2 x 12's off. Since there is not a great deal of room in the MR2 for subs, i am going to get custom boxes made, one behind each seat. These will house 10" subs to keep it nice and tight since its in the cabin. Going by the amp, what are the ideal subs to be using for my money? not too fussed what they're worth, just a sub in the medium range, and one in the high range. Specs of the amp: # RMS Power Ratings: * 350 watts x 1 @ 4 Ohms * 650 watts x 1 @ 2 Ohms * 900 watts x 1 @ 1 Ohm Cheers, Dave

I can say that the JL ones are pretty good...especially this series http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=5 they look shmick and I heard they are excellent...though might be dear. hope that helps. phong =P~

oops, thanks phongus, fixed that first post.
I'm rather partial to both Rockford Fosgate and JL subs... since ill be running two, might be worth getting 2 x 2 ohm subs, therefore running at 1ohm, therefore each sub should be about 400-450rms @ 2ohm, anyone correct me if im wrong?

I am guessing a 350WRMS would be just right without stressing the amp though you may kill the subs if you are overpowering them. go for something with 400WRMS is my guess but I think someone who is more professional can give you more advice. phong =P~

You'd want TWO subs with dual 4 ohm coils so you can get a 1 ohm load. It's very rare that a company makes a 2 ohm sub, they usually just make it dual 4 ohm, so it can be 2 or 8 ohm. For a decent match, you'll want subs rated around 450Wrms as that's what the amp will be giving each at full power.
