Where can i get some 4 gauge? Most shops charge like $10 a metre.. I need about 6-7 metres.. Already have one 8 guage cable but im adding a 4 channel amp to my setup sometime this week and don't wana underpower the amps.

System is
Alpine IVA d105 dvd headunit
Cadence a7+hc monoblock
Alpine MRP f450 4x70watt
Eclipse 4x6 (forgot model number)
Fusion FPS 462 4x6 fronts
2x Random 1000watt RMS pioneer subs

Have you tried going to the sunday market or something? someone might be selling them cheap. Try your luck on ebay maybe.

Hi There

Some people use welders cable. It's generally cheaper but not always as
flexible - which can be a problem in some situations.

Welding cable is usually very very flexible and is definitely suitable to use for your purpose, some of it is even double insulated as well for extra protection....

yep welding cable for the win... ive run 35mm through firewall and under the carpet, down the drivers side, cant even tell its there...

I have run welding cable for about 14yrs now, originally I had 70mm2 but now I run 35mm2 double insulated cable...
Works well!!!!!

im an apprentice sparky right and few occasions our copper submains gets stolen for $8 a kg i think it is. it would be funny if someone made that for there car audio, now thats some think cable, heavy to pull into switchboards. dam I should of got the 240mm2 mains cable lol, boss prob wont let me run 6-8meters lol.

thats was i do... but i just have 4 gauge, gonna upgrade when i get my hands on some free copper.

I wouldn't be using that cable as it is not flexible enough as it probably only has about 7 strands like most domestic cable....
