Alpine VR and ZR subwoofers has white cones - VRs have a blue ring around them towards the rubber outer and ZRs have red.

Eclipse are silver.
I'm guessing you're lookin at the alpines that say BASS on them? If so they are very low end, if you want Alpine aim for a type R or even X if you can spare a G. Type S are pretty good value for money though. |

Why are they "VERY low end" as you put it ? - do you mean 'entry level' or referring to poor build quality or something ? Have you had any experience with either of the two VR / ZR woofers ? FYI, Type X woofers and a lot more Alpine gear for that matter is being made over in Korea and the like...more of the older Alpine gear was made in Japan / Singapore - alot still is...but there's plenty that isn't. Not having a dig at quality or anything - but don't just go on what's the newest / flashiest...just because it's new doesn't always mean it's better. |

JVC also make a "white" cone sub, that has a"fully sik" strobe light in it with evey bass hit it flash's. they do sound good.
and yeah with the older vr/zr alpine sub's where quite good, from the systems that we've put them in. |

The Alpine subs are entry level gear.
I'm not sure what other subs are just plain white. |

Why not buy the sub that you want and then paint the cone??

I have 2 X 12 Inch subs the same as this in my EL (was in there when I bought it). I thought that they were allright when I had the old alpine speakers in the car as well. Now I have upgraded the speakers to Soundstream speakers that are 150wRMS which is the same watts as what these subs have so now they sound crap compared to the new speakers. But they work ok for just a little extra punch. So something like these might be what you are after. I think that these are the ones that the guys above are talking about being entry level subs though. I would like to upgrade mine.
