hey all
thought i might make a post over this side for a change

this system isnt in a ford, but you guys all seem to know your s**t, so i thought i would ask.

I have a CDA-1004R head unit (the one with the inbuilt slide monitor), DVA-5210 dvd player/reader unit.

im using the Ai-Net connectors in the hope that it would have made it easy.

DVD mode on the screen, will play sound, but no picture.
its not the handbrake - we had that message but earthed it out so it thinks the handbrake is on all the time so we dont get the "picture turned off for your safety" message.

everything seems to be connected right, but i just cannot get picture on the monitor/headunit, the dvd recognises different types of disk - dvd/cd/mp3 but just doesnt display the picture.

anyone have any ideas please?

couple of things
had a dodgy Ai-Net cable, and some settings needed to be 'reset' to Australia to be able to access certain things.

all things that where set and working correctly when removed from my last car, but reset in the 'offf time' of 1day before i put it in my new car.

haha yeah true

i used to be a pioneer person, but then i discovered alpine and i gotta say it was a change for the better...
that and the fact that i got my entire system - headunit with screen, dvd player thingy and stacker mp3 all for the price of a high(ish) end pioneer head unit only, was enough for me!

mates rates rock!

i got the entire system for 400 bucks

Me I'd take Alpine everyday before Pioneer, as I am after sound quality and performance over bling!!!
