Hey dudes and duderettes
I'm going to get rims put on before long, as well as whiteline superlows. Just wanted to ask a question about which size rims i should get. If i go for the 17's , they are $500 cheaper with rubber than the 18's. Obviously 18's will look better, but is it worth the extra $500? How different is the ride, and are there any problems with rubbing against wheel wells etc? If someone with photoshop skills could put some CSA Edge 18's and 17's on a pic of a white superlow EF GLi so i can compare, that would be sensational. Cheers fellas

I'd got 17's, generally the 18"'s arn't any wider (which is the main reason I get bigger wheels), tyres are more exxy, wheels are more exy too.

go 18's for sure.
they simply look better. any bigger then 18" is too big for EF/EL's but 18's are very suited

Agreed EFFalcon. Falcons just swallow anything under an 18inch rim. You'de be surprised how difference one inch can make the appearance of the car.

In my opinion if ride quality is not an issue bigger is better

you have to take into consideration that ride will be affected.. 17 will obviously be better. also when its time to replace your tyres, 18s will be alot more expensive to replace to keep that in mind.
17's dont look too bad, but of course 18's look the s**t. you might have a problem with rubbing on 18's but im not 100% sure on that. i think a few fm members have 18's and say the have the 'occasional' rub but nothing too drastic. I had the same dilema but ended up choosing the 17's: cost factor + ride factor + rubbing factor all constributed to the decision. good luck in watever you choose, id say go the 17's cos they still look good. cheers

i've got 17.s with a bit of dish, often get people asking if there 18's. i reckon its the dish. ride is a bit better with 17's tyres are cheaper. but rims are there for looks or width 18's arn't wider generally, go the 18's if i was you, other wise u'll allways look at your car and think why the hell you didn't spend the extra 500 on the 18's.

IF your going from stock rims, go from stock sizes!
Go 18, nothing more on any e series, and nothing less if modified lol.

Thanks for your contributions guys, i'll ask the guy at the store if he thinks there will be rubbing issues, and if not, and if i've got the $$$ in time, 18's it is. I do agree with the fact that i might look at the car and always wonder why i didn't spend the extra. I HATE that feeling.
