G'day guys, first thing, I am buying some 18" wheels off a fellow fordmods member for my EL GLi sedan. Anyway, today I failed roadworthy because of my exhaust has a leak (already buying a lukey cat back off ebay tonight) and because my seat is f**ked which I'm getting fixed and my two front tyres are quite bare. Anyway I was telling the bloke that I am getting 18s and he said don't bring them in here to get roadworthy as in NSW he said I can only go 1 inch above standard size. He also said if I did get the 18s I would need to get a wheel alignment adjusting the toe and everything.
I am definitely getting the wheels but I just want to know is it legal in NSW?

Also is the lukey 2.5" catback exhaust too loud and will I get defected?

its not legal to fit 18's to a e series in nsw..

plenty of people have 18's and never get done but technically its illegal..

Impossible to say if you will get caught.
You might go 5 years without getting done , you might get done for them first drive once you fit them.
Remember its not just getting defected thats an issue. Run up the a*** of a Ferrari with a car that has illegal wheels on it and there is the insurances companies excuse not to pay out and you will be left with a pretty savage bill.

No its not. He is in NSW, there are very well spelled out rules here about what is legal. Either obey them or break em all, just be aware of rules and regs you are breaking, "I didn't know" is not an acceptable excuse.
