What do you mean by unpopular? Up until recently it was probably one of the most popular offset and stud patterns in Australia. Think about the Falcon is the longest running model in Australia as far as I know and has used it up till AU so from when the dinosaurs ruled the earth to AU they've used it. Aswell as that the Valiants shared the same offset and stud pattern. In otherwords after this many years there'd have been heaps of vehicles with it. Problem is that Ford cut it off years ago now (7 years ago), and most people modding cars are going for more recent vehicles, hence the decline. I mean your a lot more likely to shelve out 2 grand for wheels and tyres for your 18 grand BA XT, than your 2 grand EA Spac!!! |

Does anyone know much about simmons wheels? I love the FR18s and FR19s, and would really like a set. I've searched all over the simmons website and couldn't find any info on offsets, if they make them for pre-AUs or not. Saw some FR 18s on a v8 xf ghia today, silver dish with gold inner-rim. I woudn't mind trading in my drift Rs for a set even if i have to pay for the price difference.

Just got a quote from Mr Mag (I know they're overpriced but even still). $770 per rim in 18 x 8. That wasn't even the rears, i'de wanna get 18 x 10 on the rear for the deeper dish. F**k that i think i'll stick with my ROH Drift R's for a while longer!

i ordered the fr19's, cost a little more than the fr18's, $837 / wheel from simmons, didn't order through them tho, got them in a wheel and tyre package from a tyre store for $3800 all up, kuhmo 245/35 tyres, not bad considering the tyres only cost me $452.
i went to simmons in sydney to have a look at them in person and said you only live once!

Thats a damn good price for a set of FR19's with tyres.
Yeah simmons quote $800-$900 for FR19's depending on the width of the rim. 10 inch wide rears is going a little over the top. I definately wouldn't advise on that, otherwise you'll have a few drama's. COngrats EL2XR8, you'll love them when you put them on for the first time! I remember they used to look massive to me when i first got them. Now i'm just used to them, so they look like 15's to me now! |

Thanks Dave,
I was going to go with a deal to get koya octanes 18" for under $2k but they were my second choice. I knew i would always say to myself "i wonder how the fr19's" would have looked?" I kept looking at your gallery everynight until I said that's it! haha. there's no better wheel out there and I ordered them in silver. Problem is it was only a week ago and i still got up to 3 weeks waiting time! Pete.
