Hey biggie.
On a NF/NL i would prolly only go 19z. Other wise it will just look too big and you will have to run really skinny tyres. My AU lane is running 245-35-19s and they are nice and wide. Whereas my mate has 20s on his ss and he can only run 225s. Plus 19s will give you that lil bit more play in the sidewall when you hit potholes!!!

20s, roll the guards and run 235/30/20s. Same height as your stockos.

Out of those 2 wheels, I'd go with the dark argents for sure. The darked wheels look awesome against a light coloured car. 19" wheels still look good on a Lane and as EF-MattyB was saying, you'll be able to get tyres with a bit more sidewall on them.
20's on a Lane look bloody awesome though. Ha, when i saw that chopped image in your first post I was reminded of this Lane below. It had KMC Jacks and Fives in 20", looks s**t hot I reckon especially with the dish they have. From memory the wheels are 20x8.5 in +10 offset Attachment:

Guards are about $50 a corner. You'll want to get the fronts done for sure, but I rekon you can get away with the rears not being done pretty easy but.
Oh and yeh, if it has to be out of those 2, the dark argents |

I had 20's on my au sedan with 245/35/R20 on them and with the guards rolled up front and trimmed in the rear didn't have an issue, running kings ultras up front and supers in the rear.

How much room do you rekon you've got from the tyre to the guard?
I just looked again and its height is a bit deceptive with the photo taken on grass, that and Lanes tend to look lower than Falcons. |

Thats the only good photo I have of them. I might take some more. But the chassis rails were 130mm off the ground. There really wasn't much room but I had pedders trim and roll the guards to suit them.

Sorry I meant from the lip of the guard, height wise how much clearance do you have? Like can you fit your hand in above the tyre horizontally?

Nothin, just wondering how low it actually is lol. a 235/30/20 is no bigger/fatter than a 235/45/17 lol.
