this is the same colour and bar as what i have on my bf xr T... i did a quick "paint" to see what the lower splitter would look like "blacked out" and this is how she looks...

I think if done correctly it should look really good. but what colour would you choose silver or black?

i was thinking of black to make it dissapear.. kinda like the look of my bf typoon bar i had on my ef fairmont.. i 'blacked the centre out".. looked ultra aggressive...

if i filled in the section where the pin striping usualy sits in she would realy look like a gt bar... well.. mayby...

why not try it with some black vinyl first? then you could remove if wanted

I think it looks ok, makes it blend in with the rest of the XR's on the road a bit less

the mesh in the bottom of the bar would need to be black aswell mat- just so it gives the desired effect .
had thought of doing it but end'd up doing on the rear bar

What about making it the same colour as the grille? Like the dark silver colour?

it kinda works well on the GT bars etc because they have a pre-defined line where you can make it black.
like an indent.
because the XR bar doesn't have that it might look tacky.
but if you use vinyl or something you can try it and if you don't like it, you can remove it easily.
just have to clean up some adhesive.
