Is that standard on XT or standard on GT? Cause the standard would vary depending wat you bought?

they are 17's the standard rims..
i heard you can go 2 inch higher than the biggest on that model, so if im not wrong, the gt comes with 18's, even 18's are an option for the xr's, so i could say the 18's were on it..

you can go as many inches as you want above standard aslong as the circumference of the wheel and tyre (around the tyre), doesnt go 1 inch above and the width of the wheel doesnt go 2 inches more.
and the load rating of the tyre must be able to hold a certain weight on each corner of the car. think it has to be a 95w tyre or something.

ive had a few police officers ask about my 19's and i say that to them and they dont bother me anymore, my car came with 15's the good old snowflakes lol.

Find the tyre rating placard on the car, usually
a sticker somewhere near a door jamb.
This will tell you the minimum speed and load rating
for your car's tyres. Thus any new tyres, regardless
of size will have to comply with this, as el_xr6 has
mentioned.

Almost right a few times here,

Ok, find the tyre rating placard on the car, (under the hood, inside the rear door) it varies. This will tell you the largest size that this model or varients of were released with, From there you can go two inches up. however you must maintain the same overall circumferance of rubber. IF you go larger than this insurance companies can void your cover,

However I have heard of people getting around this by getting the speedo reset and getting a mod plate. As far as I know the GT and F6 came out with optional 19'd so you should be able to go to 20's without any hassle, may want to look at rolling the front guards.

My EF is insured through Shannons and has 19's on it - they didn't query it, it's covered and listed on the policy.

As for legalities, well, who knows! Not as if Transport really do anything here is Tas :P
