my friend has just bought an XC ute, which is a 5 seater. has anyone ever seen or heard of these? the complience plates recognise it as a 5 seater. it's the only one i've seen like it. he wants to know if it came new like that, is it a mod ute or coupe?? will be getting photo's soon

i dont think it would be factory, i thin the best bet would be that it is a wagon converted to a ute...i was an au wagon converted to ute on the gold coast...so it is possible for this to happen, this would also explain why it says that it is a 5 seater

I know the bloke who built it. It was mine for a couple of months but couldn't afford it.

You'd probably find a thread on here with pictures and details.

basically a mates dad bought it from factory, had a child, needed more room, modded the cab, fitted coupe interior (it's also had many other mods).
Ran outta time for it years ago, it was sitting in his big backyard on the east coast near the beach rusting for yonks. My mate got his licence, took it, eventually gave it to me as he bought a Valiant, I couldn't afford to register it at the time, and so we passed it along to another bloke, who sold it and dunno were it's winded up now...

I used to own an XA ute that also had '5 seater' on the compliance plate. This left me wondering why a factory 351 XA ute with bucket seats would would be a 5 seater. I think there would be quite a few XA - XC utes getting around with the '5 seater' compliance plate.

this one didn't ciome from factory with 5 seater compliance as far as i know.
but i do know that after he extended the cab and fitted the rear seats it was engineered and is now registered as 5 seater.

I never properly owned it, it was just at my house for a couple of months and that. The son of the bloke who created it left it here, they just wanted to get rid of it, but i couldn't afford to change rego over or anything (had just bought my motorbike). So then Marcus sold it to Wingnut, who I presume you know?
