i dont believe so. there is a few places ivee seen do conversions to landcruisers and making the cruiser wagons into utes

nope, afaik it wasnt a factory option, although some dealers sold them new (with the conversion being done by another company)

have heard several bad reports about them.....

ive seen a couple they arent exactly rare so i would imagine that ford did do em, doesnt mean they did tho i guess

We have an old HQ ute at work with the 6 wheel conversion, drives like a tank.

i've heard of bad diffs and chassis bending on them too.
an aftermarket mob did them for dealers. They used to do xr utes as well.

It was an aftermarket fitment by dealers.

problems: going up gutters, rear axle lifting drive axle and getting no drive.

scrubbing tyres, as you'd expect.

but no real diff problems, put that down to poor driving habits.

the 2nd axle takes ur load rating from 1 tonne to 2 tonne, and yea as concorde said, driving habbits inhibit problems
