G'day,

Are any of these aftermarket EF/XH headlights any good?
I've got some ED ones and they are rubbish. Is it the same for the later models?

Cheers.

You thought factory ones went yellow fast... Wait to get yourself a set of non genuine ones...

I got some aftermarket AU side indicators... Yellow in near no time at all... Went back to set of used genuine ones... Fantastic...

Cheers,
Tim

Thanks ranga,

Well maybe we should know which brands we are talking about here?
How much time spent in the sun?
Standard or higher power bulbs?

Cheers.

mine were TYC off ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-EF-XH-F ... 35cc58b33c
these ones, but not sure if it is the same seller.
always parked outside, standard globes for about 18 months, then went HIDs.

i think they are on the blue one now, running standard globes again for the last 6 months. i'll check tomorrow and see how they are and grab a pic if they are still good.

Thanks Lads,

Good info.
And how do they actually work ranga? These ED ones are TYC and the beams are all over the place. I've adjusted them till I'm blue in the face and the right one still points too high!? junk!

they worked as well as ef headlight can. which isnt great to start with. they were even better with the HIDs, even tho your not legally allowed to have them. also never got flashed or had any hassles with the police either.

TYC and DEPO are respectable aftermarket headlight brands.
You shouldn't have too much trouble with either, apart from being a sucky headlight design to begin with.

Cheers bloke.
Thanks MAD, will check out your thread too.
I wish I could make this XH front look like an EL but I'd say too much bonnet mods required. An EF Fairmont look may be easier to achieve but still probably too much muckin around.
