depends on what ur after & how good a quality ur after. I'd say anywhere between $500 & upto $2500 for an electric sunroof...

..Not too sure about a new one, but it will cost me $1100 for a second hand one (that I already have) installed. $2200-$2500 sounds about right for a new one. I will double check when I get mine put in (which is in 2 weeks time)

They only leak if the seals are broken?
Or if there is no glass

My 96 fairmonts got one factory fitted and still dont leak after all this time. I am trying to find an electric one for my wagon to fit myself. Can anyone tell me if an e-series sedan ellectric roof is the same as a wagon?

Prestige Sunroofs in Wetherill Park said that it would be $2300 for a new Hollandia 700 fitted. This is the same one that was fitted to the falcons from factory.

They also said that although there is a potential for them to leak, it doesn't happen that often (and that they have only heard of a few cases). I guess that there would only be 3 reasons that they would leak:
*The hole that was cut in the roof was not done correctly in the first place.
*The seals have deteriorated. Others have been running the same sunrrof seals for decades (look at those people who have factory fitted sunroofs), and their sunroofs don't leak.
*The drian tubes are blocked. I guess the only way to make sure that this does not happen is to check them every so often. My sunroof has not been in long enough for me to worry, but I guess that every few months you could use a funnel to pour a little bit if water down each of the drain tubes, and make sure that it comes out the other end.

One last note, if you are getting a second hand one, try to get the whole roof section (not just the sunroof unit itself). The installers said that if the sunroof was not removed carefully from the previous car, there might be a tiny bend in the chassis of the unit. Putting this into another car can potentially leave ripples in the roof (before anyone comments, my roof does NOT have ripples, but I didnt get the whole roof section like I should have).

All in all, The $1100 that I paid was well worth it. That included the main seal between the sunroof unit, new drain tubes and a new roof lining, they didn't modify my old one (they move the rear reading lights and the roof is a different shape). I am happy, and I have warranty on the install (but not on the sunroof unit itself)
Cheers
Chris

I wouldn't put two in mate. When I lived down hobart there was an ef wagon at the TV/news paper building next to hobart hostpital and it looked pretty odd.
