I have a problem with my tail lights, they work but they dont  My problem is that they dont work when I brake. But they work when my headlights are on(as in parkers)
I have checked the fuses they seem to be all ok. I recently replaced a globe in the tail lights for the brakes so don't think its that. Any ideas???

Brake light switch? - On the brake pedal. That would be the next logical stop.

your brake/ tail light globe has been put in the wrong way, reverse the position you put the globe in........

even if you put the globes in backwards they'll still work. Im still betting on the brake switch - its a very common failure

Well when you send recently, I gathered it was a day or 2 before the fault appeared, my fault.

Your Brake light switch sits on the top of the brake pedal shaft, there easy too replace takes about 20mins(replaced one in my brother in-laws EF falcon work car about 3 months ago). Cost is about $40.

I would also check the earth cable in the wiring harness in the boot before you buy a new brake switch.

Cheers.............
