Can you fit and AU series 1 XR front end onto an AU Series 3 Wagon

Yes it will all bolt on. The only difference is XR Rad supports have encapsulated nuts for the headlight bases to bolt into so you'll either need to weld a nut on the inside of the rad support or use a nut and bolt and the same with the front guards. you might need to change some of the headlight wiring or if you have the loom off the Xr headlights they might plug in, I can't remember.

have an AU2 here & fitted a front from a AU1........ as mentioned before ... will be missing some mounting points. however not to hard to remedy this with a few 'bolts', which i did [for the headlights]. harder part is the holes for the bumper to support it across the rad support. don't need to do anything to the guards as i didn't need to as it bolts to the guard as per standard. the headlight wiring loom IS differant, but if your running standard globes you will be fine [i went higher wattage]. don't remember how i went with the indicators. the XR1 wiring won't plug & play with the later AU's [unless XR].
