all the one i have are definatly plastic...the backing is chrome plastic..and they are genuine ones..
i guess if there were metal backed ones they would have a little more weight to them.. again ,if some were metal backed? well there not now and the only ones available from ford are plastic... does it really matter??? |

Well, I have sold a few of these and they are PLASTIC. There is Chrome in them and I guess that is why one would stick to a magnet, my ones do stick a little but not solid. Part number for the tickford badge that goes on the front guard and Bootlid is EETVE 16098C and are $23.80 each.
I will check the one from the Engine today at work and see what it is made of. Chromium is remarkable for its magnetic properties: it is the only elemental solid which shows antiferromagnetic ordering at room temperature (and below). Above 38 °C, it transforms into a paramagnetic state |

There is ONE Tickford metal badge, the one on the AU VCT Engine is metal. It is made from cheapy alloy and is rectangular in shape, not in the wing shape. This, as far as I can make out is the ONLY metal one, even the ones on the Centre caps are plastic.
