Hey guys i am getting a Bodykit for my au1 forte but just want something nice and plain and was looking at getting the tickford kit on the AU XR8s but someone said the back panel wont fit on a series 1 back bar - has anyone put one of these kits on an AU1 i dont see why it wouldnt fit??

AFAIK the only problem you'll face is with the front bar and bonnet. The AU1 bonnet is different from AU2/3 so you'll have to factor in a swap to the correct bonnet to match your intended front bar.

its got nothing to do with the bonnet becoz its just a straight add on to the bottom of the front bar, but the panel for the back bar apprently wont fit but i cant see any difference in the AU1 back bar and au2 back bar they look the same mould to me??

Au1 and au xrs had the same bonnet with the ridge down the middle. Others had a flat bonnet. This only matters if you want to do the whole lot and swap over lights etc.

I knew there was something to look out for with the AU bonnets. :P

So all you want is the LOWER SKIRTS and not replacement back panels and bars?

AU2/3 TICKFORD kit, not T3 TS50/TE50 kit.
i.e. Side skirts, front skirt and rear skirt. You can get it to fit, but you will need an AUII/AUIII rear bumper as the AUII/III rear bumpers are beefier at the back. If you put an AUII/III rear skirt onto an AUI bumper i'm guessing it'll be a huge gap and will look crap. Get an AUII rear bumper from the wreckers, it shouldn't cost too much at all.

Hope i helped :)
heres the kit he's talkin about, nice kit. I'm booking mine in to get fitted this week.

you might be able to see the difference in these pics. You can definately see the difference when you park the two side by side.

I have a Series 1 Tickford equiped Fairmont. There are Two Tickford Kits, the ones pictured above and Mine. Difference Being the Flaring at the Wheel Arches instead of just straight side skirts. Fits perfect on an AU1 Fairmont, but it was like this from factory.

The rear bars are slightly different, which is why I make a Series 2 type rear skirt to suit a Series 1 bar.
Email me of list if you want prices.
