DRHEMI wrote: Does the material that the bulge is made out of melt??? or make the paint react when it gets hot as if you have left the holes on the underside all the engine heat will be pocketed underneath your bulge and just sit there as it has no where to escape Alot of guys just put the bonnet bulge on top of their bonnet without cutting the sheet metal off therefore they dont get the heat issue. It's made from fibreglass, lots of people run fibreglass bonnets. If you slap the bulge on top of the bonnet without a hole underneath she won't last long due to the air traped between the two. If you cut a hole underneath to prevent this then same issue. Also, the metal that the bulge is slaped onto will heat up. With the metal bonnet it would also sit under there too, but actually the air does flow through to a point when the cars moving... |

Yeah I have seen alot of fibreglass bonnets on cars but they usually have a big a** scoop of them so the heat is not trapped.
Anyway was just a thought, was not having a go at you, you have done an AWESOME job so far............

Anyway was just a thought, was not having a go at you, you have done an AWESOME job so far............ Didn't think for a second you were having a go! Most of the fibreglass bonnets I've seen have been on BA's and AU's, with the bulge, no scoops or anything, or on rice boxs - sometimes with vents. I am still considering fitting the EF XR vents, I've got a genuine set sitting here at home, and going back a page or two in this thread there's a car with them fitted and I don't mind it at all... |
