what about a dry sump? there was a pic of a car here somewhere and it sat up too high. the dry sump dropped it enough to get it in to the bay.
can't for the life of me think of the thread. if your going to do the swap, you may as well spend the extra money on it and make it pritty trick

Engine mounts arent attached to the sump
so how would putting a dry sump in drop the engine lower? im looking into another possibility at the moment, i think it can be done on the Vic Roads website it doesnt say anything about cutting the braces under the bonnet, it says you can not touch the chassis and other main safety features of the car unless you get them engineered i mean if you can put a working bonnet scoop on as an intake you must be able to cut the bonnet brace that is touching the rocker cover because from what i have seen the rocker cover does not stick out of the bonnet, looks like JETXR cut the hole more for visual purposes rather than for the engine to fit remember our engines already have an OHC, all the BA engine has is a DOHC... so there cant be that much difference in height all you have to do is cut a part of the brace underneath the bonnet and thats all looks like ill just have to speak with a few guys my friends dad has dealt with and see if they can alter the oil pick up and the sump anyway ill let you guys know when im 100% thanks for the help

i realise that, but i was told he had a dry sump in there and the engine was mounted lower somehow.
and i think you'll find that the head setup was given more height for the dohc setup. or length which is why jetxr has it out the front bit. but im pritty sure theres a fair bit mor height in it

OHC = Overhead Cam
DOHC = Dual Overhead Cam

That looks very tacky having a hole in the bonnet like that imo...

I think you will find also that (from what i have been told) that he had modified the engine mounts so that the engine sits lower in the engine bay. Im not sure if that is fact or not, but would be interesting to find out. |
