Hi fellow Ford Fans,
New to this forum, I was wondering if anyone knows whether body kits for BA Fairlane G220's are available? If particular desire is a rear lower bumper kit that will allow twin exhausts to be visible and also allow for the HD tow bar that is fitted. The current "skirt" is pretty dull and the exhaust is hidden. I am going to put a twin system on it and want it to look like a V8, rather than the very conservative show at the moment. I wonder if an XR8 skirt would fit? Anyway, I look forward to chating with you, wonder why I didn't find this site sooner? Here's pic of the car with 2 tonne of Jetster that it tows with ease.

I have seen a G220 with an xr8 kit fitted before, i think it might have been on ford forums. Or you could do something like this...

I think it photoshopping!
There are no kits designed specifially for the G220, however any real bodykit specialist would be able to make something up for you, potentially could conjoin a fpv rear bar and your fairlane bar etc

really the fairlane is just a stretched sedan.. so a person with some fibreglassing skills and time could just simply put a force 6 or 8 rear bar and sideskirts streched a tad and a nonxr kit front bar.

So who's got a rear XR6 or 8 skirt lying around that I can buy off them? I'm handy with Fibreglass and everything mechanical and would like to do it myself.
Maybe later I will do something to the front end.

that fairlane is the sexiest beefcake car ive ever seen. period. nothing hsv could come up with could outdo that understated style.

Applause. Well, photoshop or not, it sure has given me some ideas for my G220! Maybe I can get a similar result.

That is sex on wheels, had the tail lights hadnt been photoshoped to look that bad I would have thought it was the real deal. Makes me want a B series LWB even more now.

That is a nice looking G220 you have there...a sure rarity ! As it has been said, there would be some custom options available to you - perhaps get in touch with some of our sponsors to see what may be available as a 'base' mould or something and then customise from there on in ? btw - Nice boat

I agree that if FORD made this for the showrooms they'd be selling more than the big BMW's you see everywhere in NZ. SODS! Bloody Ford - Too busy trying to flog Jaguars...! I drive a wagon (as you can see) and I am getting the GT style skirt made up by a fibrglass dude who has the moulds. He then just add's 70-80 mm to the centre to make it the correct length. Maybe something similar for your Fairlane?!... |
