Hey gyus

i got a quick one, we know how ford got told to change from there ba fogs to turning lights, but how do i go about getting those driving lights? I hate turning lights and they offer no benifit whats so ever (i think anyway)

and yes i agree that the Series 1 driving lights will do prollly just as much as the turning lights are currently doing.

but its just something about a car with fogs that i like.

i used to have a ef fairmont which i directly wired to the lights so that way they were always on, but i dont want to do this with the BA

so does anyone know if/where i can get any of these series 1 driving lights?

Thanks Heaps
Mark

I have the early series lights in the bottom of the bumper on my BA wagon, the wiring is a lengthened parker light loom, which means that when you turn the parkers on they are on, the globes in them are only 5 watts so not very bright. The lights being wired up to the parkers also means that Ford removed the parker from the normal position in the lights.

so what am i hearing here? that there should be a hole in my cornering light for where ican put another globe? i thought they needed to change the entire light fitting to move it from the straight forward to the sides so they work as conering lights

or did i just read this wrong

They were supposed to change the light to make it comply with ADRs as the original design didn't.

I don't think that there is two holes in the lights that you have, the only way to change them would be to run the wiring off the parker wiring so that they are on when the parkers are on, or to run a switch and some new wiring and have them switched somewhere in the car.

They are NLA from ford because they don't meet ADR's. All the early MK1 fairmont ghias got recalled and they were swapped over for cornering lights which involved new lights with a different shaped reflector and a different wiring loom afaik.

They are still not really fog lights, since they have only got 5 watt globes in them, and they are plastic lenses and housings.

Sounds like a plan. I agree with mattronics, they'd be useless as foglights anyhow.
