i did ba sr side skirts onto my ef fairmont.. paulc (swc) shortned them 40mm.. i had to finish smoothing over the cut.. then trim excess off so that it sat nicely in the sill underneath the doors..

shortening is easier then lengthening though
plus.. GT skirts have the sections that go up the dog leg/front quarter, which might not sit too flush. Hyena's old EF had them though.

Hi Kev
Are they original or Fiberglass skirts. If they are original you will find that they clip up underneath over the sill joint. I just then use a couple of Teck Screws to hold them in place. If they are Fiberglass, who knows. You will need to trim around the door sills to make them fit neatly. trim them so they fit under the weather seal. Use a small screw or pop rivit in an nout of sight place to hold in place. I lengthend a set for the wagon, this is why Matt and Terrorist got theirs from as they were made from the off cuts. needed to extend the BA SR skirts by about 40mm I think, about the same you need to shorten them to fit the sedans. Just shortened a set recenty for Total Tool. When lengthening make sure that you reinforce well inside the skirt. GT skirts are a bit harder to extend due to the different shapes. Good luck, if you need more help just yell. |

you use screws to mount the skirts in each wheel arch, front and rear. I can't find and picks of my work on the skirts but it is pretty straight formard. Use screws and plates to support the skirt till you have fiberglassed it us and use good supprt plates on the inside and glass over them.
