Hey guys,
Have had this develop over winter over here, has been particularly wet so that may have been the cause. Got a lot of condensation in the drivers headlight, pretty much Identical to what this guy had: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32247&highlight=headlight%20condensation Anyway, has anyone else had this issue and how should i fix it? The oven trick and reseal? I am probably going to buy some headlights tomorrow as I might be getting a pair cheap. Will then probably sell them on if I get this light sussed. TIA Steve |

Hadn't thought about aftermarket. I bought this car after it ad been used by Puma Clothing NZ as their lease car so chances are it had a mid prang or two.
Will probably just buy the genuine pair and replace. Then fix and sell off my old ones |

Any one know whats the deal with what temp to heat the oven to. have been told 150 degrees according to the guys with supra's that need to do it as well (common problem for them too apparently) but don't know if it differs between plastics?
Have been told that once they are done to reheat and fit them together then seal them with all clear or silicon. |

its a common ford fault. both my BF XR6 and my auntys BA 2 G220 Fairlane suffered this. after many battles with fraud we got new lights.
i took a pic of the lane but only accidently ended up with a pic of the xr so ull have to know wat ur looking for to spot it |

most people i know drill a small hole in the bottom of the light (where it can't be seen) lets the condensation escape when the sun hits it.
You will still get condensation but it will be gone 10 mins after the sun hits it

Double check the rubber condom seal on the back of the lights is actually sealing properly. If sealed properly you won't get condensation.
(not as easy to use as the solid 'plug' like the EF/EL lights had, but it works fine).

OK so been a while since I checked in here. Damn webmarshall at work!
I Ended up buying a pair for 150, but I also managed to dry out the headlight. Only problem now is it has a filthy film from the condensation. So I guess I either replace or open it and clean it. Obviously it will need some more resealing for when the wet season comes back |
