Hey guys,

Just after some opinions on new wheels for my Fairmont.
I have the chance to buy some 18 inch BA Typhoon copies for EF/EL offset.
I'm buying them off a mate who bought them from Beaurepairs in Geelong. The wheels cost him $950 for the set and the tyres were $190 each and are 'Gislaved' brand.
He has had them on his dark green EF Fairmont and done 7,000 km's.
Mine is dark purple in colour (not sure of exact colour name).

Questions:
I can have the wheels and tires for $1,000 - is that a good deal?
What are the tires like for quality - good brand?

Any help appreciated.
Cheers guys.

Not sure about the tyre quality...but for 18inch Typhoon wheels with any tyres for $1000 - I'd take it in a snap!

Gislaved is made by Continetal, so they'd be ok. For $1000, provided there isnt any noticeable gutter rash I'd be all over them like Michael Jackson on a 9year old!

Thanks for the replies. Absolutely no gutter rash on the mags whatsoever.
They are in A1 condition which is great. Looks like i'll snap them up then!! Cheers. :D

Thanks guys. I am so pleased with the way it all turned out. Having 16s on it previously, I though I may have had to drop the back another 1/2 or 1/4 of an inch to make it sit just right but with the 40 series tyres on the Typhoon wheels, it sits perfectly and drives really well too.

I will be doing a few more things in the coming weeks to make her look nice. Probably start with clear repeaters and maybe a Fairlane grille. What other things does everyone suggest I could do cosmeticaly to sharpen her looks?

Cheers guys.

How hard are the fog lights seen on Fairlanes to get my hands on? Are they a pretty rare thing?
