hi im looking to put the bottom half of the ba xr kit on my ef. not change lights just the mouth and the spotlights etc... side skirts and the bottom half of the rear bumper. just wondering if there is any difference in length and width from the ef to the ba? well anything major. as i want to try to do it all myself.would i more then likely need 2 ba xr kits or is the ef smaller in legth so ill just have to cut the ba 1 down?

hey mate i have just put the BA XR kit on my EL fairmont ghia, FRONT BAR AND SIDE SKIRTS, and it would haev to be one of the most time consuming jobs to be done, the frotn bar is wider and alot of cutting and moulding, messing around with fibreglassing and bog took a couple of months to be finished the side skirt on the other hand are alot eaisier, cut off 40mm and make a end for it.

but the car is done now all painted and finished looks insane. dont see to many EL's with BA XR kits on them.

cheers kyle

come to a meet RustyEF and i'll get some newer pics :)

I think how well it goes on the car depends on the method you use to get it on.

I found the width to be perfect, length of the sides was slightly off but was just a matter of cutting some off the BA bar.

as RustyEF said, its a fairly slow process due to the amount of fibreglass/filler thats required (unless you can do plastic welding)
but deffinately worth it in the end :)

I've seen 2 EF GLi fronts with BA XR lower halfs, heard of another one, seen RustyEF Fairmont Ghia one and thats about it.

hey yeah this was my first time i did custom Body kit, i ahevnt put rear on yet, has haevnt had time to do it, its jsut sitting here collecting dust.

but will get around it it very soon.

someone has reversed into my bar, on friday night, was painted just over a week ago, so its a little bit of damage, but will be like that for a while as time is very short.

will be at some ford forums cruise on sat night though.

i've used my front bar to push things open, but no damage has been done to any of the bars on my car.
just do it!

i got the side skirts for $110 the front bar for $200 and the rear bar for $200.. so $510 for the body kit, and paint cost me next to nuthing.

this should give you a fair idea on the price.

i got all my bars free from smash repairers.
only the side skirts were purchased.
mine are genuine BA XR side skirts and were $250 off someone who put a C2R kit on their BA.

so total is prolly around $300 + paint.
