heyy guys, I'm new here, and i'll introduce myself a tad later because i'm at school haha,

But my dad just purchased me an XT falcon for my 18th birthday, and i was just wondering, whether i could put a BA XR6 body kit onto it, I personally like the DJR kit. I'm under the assumption it's a straight bolt up, but seeing as the head lights on the XT are different compared to the XR series, are they straight bolt up to?

Sorry if this post seems scrambled, i'm a tad cut for time.

Cheers guys :P

Welcome to FordMods mate,
Most BA parts are interchangable, but you have to get XR headlights to go with a XR bodykit, should bolt straight up though

So basically, i can change the xt lights to the xr6 ones providing i have the front bar to slot them into? Because from a quick glance the only differences i can see is that the xrs have those little tear drops.

Also, with the djr kit, it's a new front bar yes? It's not one of those lip kit ones?

Cheers mate

yes and yes, only difference with the BA headlights is the designed the mounting points are the same... basically just plug and play, am pretty sure the djr front bar isnt a lip spoiler

you can get the kits to suit the ba xt headlights so you dont have to swap to the xr headlights... they look good, aslong as you dont have a rear spoiler they look sweet with the fat djr kit... imo

What spoiler you talking about? The xr or djr spoiler? I love the whole kit tbh. I want one so bad :)

why would it not be suitable for a BF XR? they have the same headlights, only slightly different bar design around the foglights....

if changing to xr lights and bumper you will need the xr grill also. personally id rather get genuine stuff then fibreglass, but its up to you what you prefer. everything is a direct bolt on conversion on a ba, thing to watch for on bodykit is some sedan ba's have a one piece rear bumper, and some a 2 piece. you might want to check which one you have before buying the lower rear skirt. alfy they should fit yes. different around fog lights, the lower grill area is different shape, and they have a bumper bolt behind the number plate where a ba doesnt. only differences im aware of.

Hmmm, i wonder why it wouldn't fit the xt, if you can put an xr6 kit on it, then i couldn't see why i couldn't put it on. Hmmm thats confusing haha

there saying it wont fit non xr fords because of the different headlights thats all, change the headlights to and it should fit

I'd like to fit side and rear XR skirts to the BF1 Fairmont Ghia. Also means changing the exhaust tip, and the mud flaps. It has one of those one piece rear bumpers so I'll have to change-out the whole thing (i.e. I can't just detach the bottom piece and put an XR one on :x ).
This car's had it done (pics from carsales some time ago). Oh and it also has a Fairlane grille:

congrats on the car mate, the 1st thing to do is fit an external trans cooler and completely disconnect the factory one, the trans cooler is built into the radiator and they love to **** themself and put coolant through your gearbox ( a $3500 headache that can be avoided for about $150)

the BA XR6 Kit or even a BF XR6 kit will bolt straight up

BA and BF XR headlights are the same ( BF mark 2 had a different connector but its easy to rewire) as are side skirts and rear bar, the only difference between BA and BF XR on the exterior were tail lights, wheels and front bar.

the reason the DJR kit will not fit standard falcon and BF XR is because it is a lip kit, the bottom of the front bars are different BA to BF so the lip will not fit anything else but a BA XR front bar.
