I like the look of that... it is perhaps the fix for the EL rear that I was hoping for I have red and white EF lights on the back now so it blends well...

and its different..

The chrome number plate surround off the fairlane garnish fits straight on with no mods... looks good too I think.. its a start :-)

The new boot and spoiler clean up all right too.. especially with the EF taillights in place of the lamo EL ones..

the whole thing could use a wash and polish me thinks..

hmm... the more I look at that, the more I like it.. it breaks up the blandness of the EF/EL rear without going overboard like a fairmont spear...

the boot garnish would look heaps better with EF tail lights IMO.

Why not get a fairmont surround to see what it looks like?

Hi Alfy...

The lights are EF lights now.. swapped them last week.

I may have to re-think fitting the whole garnish unless I can get the fairlane lights and boot to fit also...

The garnish sticks out half an inch.. on a fairlane, thats fine because the boot is recessed.. the EL boot wasn't designed for a garnish so it isn't resessed except where the number plate fits.. not enough for the whole garnish..

having said that, if i can get the whole kit from a fairlane.. I'll certainly see if I can get it all one there..

not sure I like the spear.....

first I have to find a fairlane with a cheap back end and I have to visit with an angle grinder and then fire up my welder..

krisisdog..... personal preferences mate.. apart from which, I didnt' like it much at first either.. but its grown on me and the pictures really don't do it justice.

If I put a fairmont surround on it.. it'll look like a....... fairmont.. and I don't particularly like them at the rear..

The chrome surround was a temp thing to see what was possible.. still a work in progress... I don't mind the look though.

I like the spoiler.. its' small and low.. not like a pram handle... but the rest I agree with...

I still havn't given up on this yet:

So once I get some fairlane taillights and boot lid, I do plan to give it a shot.. (you'll be happy to know that the EL spoiler will not fit the fairlane boot due to differing curvature.. :-)
