Hey there,
While browsing ebay, I have come across this item...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FALCON-EA-E ... dZViewItem

I am curious, and am wanting to know how he would have done it, and would it be legal.

He has said that the blinker still shines orange, But how bright would it be??

i have pictures on my comp at home of an EL with black indicators as well.
I guess they must work ok if he is using them?
But havent seen them on the road
i guess it would be the same as the tinted brake lights?

Yes you can do it, no they arent as bright, no they arent legal, and no, theyre not a good idea.

i had tinted ef fairmont taillight once...for 2.5 years... yes they are illegal.. yes its right saying they dont illuminate as brightly.. but i can vouch for many times being pulled over for a "RANDOM" (yeah right! ) breath test and the cops never payed any attention to the tailights... 8-) was i lucky?? or the cops not up to date on whats ok and whats not... or too much of a small indiscrepency to waste their time??

I was looking at Ferntree Gulley Auto wreckers, AU XR8 Ute had them tinted black, didnt look half bad. If anyone finds out if they are legal in NSW then I will definetly get them. I wonder if its available in anyother colour, like a one way tinted glass or sumthin?

i don't know why anyone would want to make their warning lights, ie brake lights darker ... wouldn't it increase the chance the car behind you doesn't notice youa re slowing down, or the guy in front doesn't notice you're turning etc... crazy mods they are - just makes things more dangerous for the sake of looking fulleh sic!

agreed happy. It seems to be the thing to do at the moment, everyone is ricing up there cheap cars with tinted dark taillights whilst expensive euro cars are going for ultra bright taillights.

I could understand having a set tinted for shows and such and just putting them on when your cars parked up on show

I have tinted my side indicators on my EF Gli with night shade and they light up just the same as they used to. I have been pulled over numerous times and the cops don't have a problem with them. I think it makes the car look nicer on the side as it blends in with the black strip.
