Yer I know, the guy that owned it before me done all that, I only resprayed it black, the kit is only a fiberglass one except for the front spoiler.

In my opinion if your gonna go black you might as well go all black I think if had of left the red stripe on it would of looked tacky.

Hey mate, i reckon it looks tops in black!
How much did it cost you to respray it in black? And did you get the engine bay done also?

Cheers mate.

It actually cost me nothing, the joy's of being a panel beater, the only thing that is not painted is the engine bay but the original colour is heritage green so it looks black anyway and I will probably pull the motor out down the track and I will do it then

How much would it have cost to get sprayed if you didnt do it yourself?

Cheers mate.
it wasnt an option, but i dare say that if you had the right kinda $$, ford would've painted one in black
I bought my EL XR8 in October 03 and for insurance reasons had to get the printout from Ford on the factory options as the car was sold and run off the lot. THis guy had done everything and although the simmons wheels went on after market, the car was fully optioned plus some. If anyone was going to throw the extra money in it would have been this guy. The car rolled out of the shop at a touch over $61,000 before the wheels, and i am told that he traded this in and bought the series 2 AU TS50 - in black.

Never seen a genuine EL in black, but that doesnt mean theyre not around. If i were to reapint mine it would either be black or that new limey green on the BA's.
